~ Unlikely people & unimaginable blessings ~ ^v^

Your story might be nothing but a broken heart and a sad soul;
shattered hopes and deferred dreams.
Your life might be nothing but slopes and bends;
despair and death.
But,
God has plans for you,
plans that are bigger, better and greater than you could ever imagine;
plans that are beyond your wish lists and expectations.
* * *  * * *  * * *
Let go of your plans,
put away your agendas;
submit everything to God,
lay your life upon His shoulder,
and allow Him to ignite that spark within you!
God always makes miracles out of the insignificant, the weak, the fragile;
a wan smile, a little faith, a random act of benevolence,
and a lot of ordinary people!  :)

Mayhem In The Jungle With.......Angry Birds!!!!! ~~~ v(Ow<)v
A game of birds without wings, talons and claws bounce with their round bellies and hop onto a catapult; the player then has to stretch the elastic rubber band to a perfect angle, aim for the target: the green pigs.....and let go! Off it goes, flying through the air and into the pigs' fortress, causing the entire structure to cave in and crash down....destroying all the pigs in a single blow. Rovio's creation - Angry Birds has become a global phenomenon. The simple story of a flock of birds whose eggs are stolen by grunting, thieving pigs has been turned into one of the world's most influential mobile game of the decade. Angry Birds is for people of all ages - grandpa, grandma, dad, mom, sister, brother, cousin. Anyone! Yes, even your grandpa can hum to the theme music and laugh along with you when the bird zooms through the air, hits a block of wood or a brick and knocks down the annoying green pigs.

The red bird doesn't possess any special strength or power, but it definitely kicks butt! And as for the giant red bird - 'Big Brother', it destroys anything that is in its way like a huge boulder tumbling downhill. A stunning but punishing attack....sometimes I really do feel sorry for pigs, being squashed and crushed and rolled over. Poor little things, aren't they? However, I do enjoy damaging their homes and hearing them go 'poof' into thin air....it's such a great comfort and satisfaction, from such a small game. And there you have it.....my guilty pleasure!

I particularly love the black one. Its round, bomb-like body; beautiful black coat, perky beak and antenna. It looks just like a bomb, and it works just like one, too! The black bird explodes and creates shockwaves that cause massive destruction to the pigs' reinforced roofs and fortified walls, resulting in a great massacre of the green hogs. That's why my cousin loves to call it 'The Ultimate Bomb Bird'! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!!

"Go yellow bird! Go! Go! Go!" screams my cousin, mimicking the way the bird is being shot into the air with an imaginary catapult. Speed is its essence: the Kamikaze bird rockets through the stratosphere at inhuman speed once the screen is tapped. It is capable of wiping out the entire foundation of the structure by merely ripping through a block of wood. It breaks through wooden hurdles with ease, like a pebble being thrown at a piece of paper. Despite the bird's vicious velocity, it doesn't do much damage on concrete platforms or even glass towers. The Kamikaze bird's greatest weakness is when being hurled at a glass brick or a stone altar. So remember to look out for them kids!

Split it blue guy! Split it! And there comes three of them! The blue Scattershot bird dissipates into three small projectiles when the screen is tapped. Always think of these little blue guys as bullets from a shotgun! These birdies may be small in size, but they sure are mighty little wonders!

Love it or hate it....the green Boomerang bird has become a hit among its fellow mates. It makes a turn, flies backwards, hits its target and causes everything to collapse - a boomerang! Trust me, with its deadly accuracy and destructive power, this green toucan can never be underestimated.

Last but not least, the 'Mother Of All Bombs'! The white maternal bird lays eggs....well, not ordinary chicken eggs that you have for breakfast everyday, but explosive eggs that send those green pigs and their construction blasting off into outer space! Okay, fine! Maybe I did exaggerate a little, but still.....the eggs are worth all my praise! And before I put an end to this paragraph, I'd like to give all of you an extra tip: get as low to your target as possible for maximum destruction. 'Splash!' goes the egg. 'Crash!' goes the pigs' home. 'Phieeeeuuttt!' goes the pigs!

Well, all thanks to Peter Vesterbacka, the creator of Angry Birds, the Finnish game producer of Rovio Mobile Ltd. and now......one of the most influential people in the world! My cousins and I have spent three days sketching, drawing, coloring, designing and creating new homes for the Angry Birds: a tree-house filled with colorful boomerangs for the Boomerang toucan, a chamber of dynamites for 'The Ultimate Bomb Bird', a spacious room with a large bed for 'Big Brother', a snow globe for the red bird, a dome with a cloning device for the tiny blue bird, a chicken coop for the egg-dropping bird and lastly.....a piece of blue sky for the speedy Kamikaze bird! Lo and behold......the Angry Birds have finally found where they truly belong - a place where they call home.

( P.S: I have a confession to make.....I'm completely, entirely, thoroughly and utterly obsessed with these cute little birdies! May all of you be birds of a feather, and eagles of a flock! ~~~ x3 )

1. If you are a dreamer, come in,
    If you area dreamer, a wisher, a liar;
    A Hope-er, a Pray-er, a Magic Bean buyer,
    If you are a pretender, come sit by my fire;

6. In books hatred is often described as hot, but at Capricorn's festivities Meggie discovered it was cold - an ice-cold hand that stops the heart and presses it like a clenched fist against the ribs.

7. "Yes, you're right," agreed Mo. "Perhaps things have changed there after all. Perhaps there's another, much larger story behind the printed one, a story that changes just as our own world does. And the letters on the page tell us only as much as we'd see peering through a keyhole. Perhaps the story in the book is just the lid on a pan: it always stays the same, but underneath there's a whole world that goes on - developing and changing like our own world.

    in books I see what is yet to come...

Friends Forever ~~~ d ^L^ b
In the sunny days, I would dry your tears.
In the rainy days, I would shed your pain.
In the stormy days, I would shield your fears.
In the lonely days, I would stay by your side.

I would be the keeper of your heart, the bearer of your soul, the guardian of your life...
You are indeed precious than ever,
my friend.
Like a gemstone in a golden casket,
Like a ruby in a dagger's pommel,
Like an amulet in a silver goblet,
Like an emerald in a woman's navel...
B.F.F= Best  Friends F orever
Precious than ever...
Like our friendship that never...

The Winter by Emma Bradley

Slinking through the frozen world,
Beneath the dead, and decaying trees,
Past the long deserted nests of birds,
In a world of silence.

Comes the light.

Glittering on feathers of snow,
Shining through prisms of ice,
Circling trees with its warm embrace,
And bringing life with a single dawn.

Fashion 101 ~~~ v^w^v

It’s Fashion 101!!!!

"Oh my gosh! Only one hour left! What am I going to wear tonight?" If this is what you're going through, then leave it all to me ladies! Jinx is here on a rescue mission to save you from a disastrous nightmare of wardrobe malfunction! Trust me, I totally understand the pain of having to rush around the house looking for a missing 5-inch Jimmy Choo stiletto, having to curse at the top of your lungs when you aren't able to find your favorite Chanel silk coat, having to tremble with fear when the search for your Harry Winston diamond choker has smashed into utter failure, having to clamber over your latest UGG collection and begin to drown in anxiety when your Burberry knee-length boots can't be found anywhere, having to wade through an ocean of Louis Vuitton leather embossed bags and Gucci clutches to dig out your long-forgotten Armani vest......... What you need right now is a fashion guru...like me! Let's begin our Fashion 101, shall we?

Lesson #1  Be The Girl Of His Dreams!
Don't worry too much about what you're going to wear to impress HIM on your first date, just be yourself! If you love simplicity and serenity, then this style is definitely for you! Try on a neutral-hued dress with a clean, elegant cut across the shoulder. Gossamer feathers sewn on the hem of this dress add a splash of sophistication and beauty to it, too. Now that you've got a dress, it's time to accessorize - every girl's favorite part! Salvatore Ferragamo's 2011 Autumn-Winter Collection introduces a subtle yet feminine array of carved wooden bangles which, I promise, would go perfectly with the earth-toned dress.

But of course, if you crave for eye-catching embellishments and bold shades, you may take the extra mile! A bejeweled jacket always works wonders when you go out on a date. And don't be afraid to stand out from the crowd with a combustive combination of amethyst and fuchsia, it shows off the energetic and adventurous side of you!

Lesson #2  Rock The Party, Girls!
You're now invited to a friend's party, but unfortunately, you don't have much time to decide: a Versace cocktail dress or a Juicy Couture chiffon top with a pair of jeans? Well, let me help! If you prefer the 'girl-next-door' style to the 'party princess' look, then I suggest you wear a metallic jacket with a gold-plated or sequined top inside. To tone down the 'bling', slip into a stone-washed jean skirt and a pair of Hunter boots.

Want to rule the party like a princess? Count on me then! Swap those old jeans and pullovers for a taffeta dress with satin trims and a tailored jacket. Don't forget to adorn yourself with those to-die-for Lucite quilted cuffs which all women dream of possessing. If you're desperately hoping for the day when you finally get the chance to boast about your most prized possession and to receive envious glares from everyone looking your way to come, then stop pondering and get yourself a statement clutch! It's 'so long farewell' to ritzy old purses and 'hello beautiful' to one of fashion's greatest assets - clutches! Not just ordinary clutches in matt leather, but clutches that make a statement and scream for people's attention. Oh, something must have slipped my mind.....SHOES!!! That's right! After all, shoes are a girl's best friend! Dip your princess feet into this season's 'it factor' accessory - a pair of Jimmy Choo platforms.

People will be busy staring at those crystal-encrusted heels below your feet, and hopefully.....you may be crowned as princess of the party. To top everything off, wear a casual ruched hat! Who says all princesses have to wear pink tiaras? If you think the hat doesn't exude any vibrant explosion to your look, try adding a few delectable pieces of your own. For instance, a bright-colored feather brooch....or even a mesh-braid sequin, or....an ornate button with emerald beads and........... Ooops! Guess I've got a little carried away, haven't I?
Well, we've now come to the end of today's Fashion 101. So long for now ladies! Have a great day hunting down all the wardrobe must-haves of this season! :)

Fashionista.

Quotes Of The Day ~~~ x333

Today, I've decided not to write anything of my own, nothing fancy; just some timeless touches of irony encased in simplicity. Well, come on, give it a guess!........

Yes, that's right! Quotations! Some by the greatest English poet of all times, some by the most influential Greek philosopher and polymath the world has ever heard of, some derived from the international best-selling novel, The Lovely Bones and some......barely known, but still impeccable. Now, may I present to all of you.....my very first 'Quotes Of The Day'!

Put yourself in their shoes before you decide on the best way to take their shirts.
-David Sklansky

The first rule of holes: when you're in one, stop digging.
-Molly Ivins

The test of a book's quality is not if it reflects my life, but if it reflects yours.
E.L Doctorow

Anybody can become angry-that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way-that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.
-Aristotle

Dignity consists not in possessing honors, but in the consciousness that we deserve them.
-Aristotle

We are what we repeatedly do.
-Aristotle

A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.
-William Shakespeare

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.
-William Shakespeare

Watch out what faces you make. You'll freeze that way.
-Derived from The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

Because horror on Earth is real and it is everyday. It is like a flower or like the sun; it cannot be contained.
-Derived from The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

You hold on to death tightly, like a rope that will transport you, and you swing on it, hoping only to land away from where you are.
-Derived from The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

At the tips of feathers there is air and at their base: blood. I hold up bones; I wish like broken glass they could court light...still I try to place these pieces back together, to set them firm, to make murdered girls live again.
-Derived from The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

You don't notice the dead leaving when they really choose to leave you. You're not meant to. At most you feel them as a whisper or the wave of a whisper undulating down. I would compare it to a woman in the back of a lecture hall or theater whom no one notices until she slips out. Then only those near the door themselves, like Grandma Lynn, notice; to the rest it is just like an unexplained breeze in a closed room.
-Derived from The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

I could do nothing - trapped in my perfect world.
-Derived from The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

Murder had a blood red door on the other side of which was everything unimaginable to everyone.
-Derived from The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

My mother's eyes were oceans, and inside them there was loss. I thought I had my whole life to understand them, but that was the only day I had. Once upon Earth I saw her as Abigail, and then I let it slip effortlessly back-my fascination held in check by wanting her to be that mother and envelop me as that mother.
-Derived from The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

A smile ~~~ :)
Most people may think that a smile is merely a way to express one's happiness and joy. But to me, a smile is more than just a thread stretched across one's face, bound to the corners of one's mouth or tied into the folds of one's cheeks.

A smile.....a loosen cord, an unleashed hail of flowers.
A smile.....a sweet aroma, a cornucopia of bursting suns.
A smile.....a filled goblet, a beautiful bird soaring across the horizon.
A smile, not just stretches across one's face, but stretches to infinity.....beyond all. It is neither a mask of deceit nor a veil of mockery.
It is neither a thread nor a shard. It is...... :)

Table for three~~~ Me, Julie Powell & Julia Child!
Based on two true stories.
Starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.
After watching the movie 'Julie & Julia' (starring wonder woman Meryl Streep and iconic red-hair actress Amy Adams), I've been lured into the seductive world of food, obsession was the last thing on my mind when I first came across the French word 'Bon appetit' and things took a twist and a turn.....and now I'm irrevocably, unconditionally and utterly in love....with food of course. I started salivating profusely when I laid my eyes on her. Not Julie Powell! I meant the ravishing chocolate souffle, yes, it's a SHE! From buttered mushrooms to succulent  scallops; From pomegranate and lobster salad to the sophisticated collaboration of caramelized shallots accompanied with deeply aromatic French truffles; From the burnt beef stew to the duck Julie Powell had to brutally bone and dismember; From the day she told herself she needed a different goal and direction in her life to the day she finally made it to New York Times and became one of the world's most successful food writers.

Julie Powell loves Julia Child, and I love Julie Powell!
And it all started with her very first blog called 'The Julie/Julia Project' . Her road to fame and success was never a path of peaches and cream. But who needs peaches to pursue dreams? No one.

Someday, I hope I could be just like her!

Finally!!!! Freedom~~~ x333

Say goodbye to daunting history and dreadful geography test papers! Bid farewell to the cacophony of teachers grunting, test papers rustling in the undulating whispers of breeze, wooden chairs creaking and most of all.......the exam clock ticking in a most unbearable way as each second passed! Ta-ta to the devastating world of algebra, the bottomless ocean of numbers and equations, the mire of historical events and prestigious patriots! Well, that's the vast void I can finally escape from and now sitting on a wooden bench, having all the pleasure of devouring a huge slice of chocolate cake, gulping down the few remaining crumbs, and blogging of course!

Well, this is Jinx signing off....to bed!
Good night, sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite!
